Affiliate & Ad Disclosure

Affiliate and Ad Disclosure

WhichAmI is free to read because of advertising, and may in future also carry affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works and how we keep it from influencing what we write.

The Short Version

  • We show display advertising on the site.
  • We do not currently use affiliate links. If we ever add them, we may earn a commission when you click an outbound link or buy a product we recommend, and we will disclose it clearly as described below.
  • Advertising and any future affiliate revenue do not influence quiz questions, scoring, or results. Content decisions and revenue decisions are kept separate.

Advertising

Google AdSense

The site shows display ads served by Google AdSense. The AdSense library loads only after you grant the advertising category in our cookie consent banner; if you decline, no ads are loaded and no advertising cookies are set. Ads are selected by Google based on its own policies and may be personalized based on your browsing history and the data Google holds about you. You can control ad personalization through your Google Ad Settings and change your on-site choice any time from the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.

We do not choose which specific ads you see, and ad content does not reflect our endorsement.

Affiliate Programs

We do not currently use affiliate links anywhere on the site. If we add them in future, this section will name the specific networks we join (for example Amazon Associates or similar) before any such links go live.

When we do link to a product, book, course, or service through an affiliate network and you click the link, the network may pay us a commission if you make a qualifying purchase. The price you pay does not change.

How We Will Disclose Affiliate Links

If and when we add affiliate links, we will disclose them in two ways:

  1. Page level. Any article, result page, or recommendation roundup that contains affiliate links will carry a short note at the top: "This page contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases."
  2. Per link. Individual affiliate links will be marked, usually with a small "(affiliate)" tag, an icon, or HTML attributes such as rel="sponsored".

If a link is not marked, treat it as non-affiliate.

Content Integrity

This is the part that matters most:

  • Quiz content does not change because of a partnership. Questions, scoring, and result archetypes are written based on the framework or theme of the quiz, not based on what advertisers want to see.
  • Any recommendations would be based on fit. If we ever recommend a book, tool, or product alongside a result, we will pick it because it fits the result, not because it pays the highest commission.
  • We will say no. We turn down partnerships that would require us to skew a quiz, soften a disclosure, or mislead readers.
  • Quiz illustrations are original and depict no real people or third-party characters.

Sponsored Content Policy

We do not currently run sponsored quizzes or sponsored articles.

If we ever do, sponsored content will be:

  • Clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "Paid Partnership" at the top of the page.
  • Marked in any in-site listing where it appears.
  • Held to the same factual standards as our regular content. A sponsor cannot ask us to mislead readers.

Gifted Products and Review Samples

If we receive a product free of charge for review, we will say so in the article. A free sample does not guarantee a positive review.
